Frequently Asked Questions About LENS Neurofeedback

What does LENS stand for?
LENS stands for Low Energy Neurofeedback System. It is a specialized form of neurofeedback developed by Ochs Labs that uses brainwave measurements and brief, low-energy electromagnetic feedback signals.
How is LENS different from traditional neurofeedback?
Traditional neurofeedback often requires participants to respond to visual or auditory information. LENS is passive and does not require individuals to consciously control their brain activity or complete specific exercises.
What happens during a LENS neurofeedback session?
Sensors are placed on the scalp to monitor brainwave activity. The LENS system uses this information to provide brief feedback signals. Sessions are generally short, although the complete appointment may take longer.
Can LENS neurofeedback help with addiction recovery?
LENS may be offered as a complementary wellness service during addiction treatment.
Is LENS neurofeedback painful?
LENS is noninvasive, and most people feel little or nothing during the feedback itself. Individual responses vary, and clients should discuss any discomfort or concerns with their provider.
Where is LENS neurofeedback offered in Littleton, Colorado?
New Beginnings Recovery Center, located at 191 E. Orchard Road in Littleton, Colorado, offers LENS neurofeedback as part of its individualized, whole-person addiction recovery program.
Does LENS replace counseling or addiction treatment?
No. LENS is a complementary service and does not replace counseling, evidence-based addiction treatment, medication when appropriate, or other necessary medical and behavioral health care.
